Back in February I sent in a message that Spurs’ season was done following their elimination from the Carabao Cup, as at the time that seemed their only realistic chance of silverware and success. How wrong I, and many others, clearly were. I have no idea if Tottenham will stick with Ange, or even if they should, but that’s an issue for next season where they will start in the same position as every other Premier League team. Enjoy the celebration Spurs fans, it’s been a long time coming.

Get Involved - Spurs need to 'invest' but 'history says otherwise'published at 09:05 British Summer Time 22 May

I'm an Arsenal fan and even I, after the season they've had, have to say well done to Postecoglou and if Levy was intelligent he'd now invest to try and get them somewhere in the Champions League. History says otherwise though.

Pains me to say this as an Arsenal fan - well done Spurs. The drought is over. You have a trophy - dare I say your Euro record outshines ours. That's where it ends but credit where credit is due. United are further away than most thought. Shaw, Mount, Casemiro - all questionable selections. Dreadful.

  4. Europa League has been the focus since January - Postecogloupublished at 09:03 British Summer Time 22 May

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou delivered an honest answer with regard to when he started prioritising Europa League during last night's post-match news conference: "I think when we got to the end of January - the end of the transfer window and assessed our situation - I made a decision there and then that this was the trophy we were going to go for.

"It was at odds with what other people believed at the time we should do and that's understandable but I really believed we could win this.

"Everything we've done since then, everything we've done in training and the teams I've selected were making sure that when these games came around that we were in the best possible position to tackle them.

"That has come at a cost for sure in the league and I have to take responsibility for that, but I just felt the end game of winning something was more important to me and it's the only way that I was going to do it."
