    I don’t want to be “that guy” but even my club (Tamworth) took Tottenham to extra time, but wanted to congratulate Ange, after the season he’s had in extremely glad he got the job done. It wasn’t a feast on the eyes but right team won.

    One Tottenham fan tweeted on 28 May, 2017 that they would not tweet again until Spurs win either:

    Remarkably, they've been true to their word as their X was dormant until moments after last night's final, when they reposted that tweet with a video of a man appearing to wake up from a coma.

    Tottenham's players and manager are in understandably buoyant mood as they leave their hotel in Bilbao.

    Waiting fans were even given the chance to touch the Europa League trophy before the squad boarded their coach, heading for the airport and a flight back to London.

    Tottenham Hotspur's social media team were having fun last night after the club's Europa League win against Tottenham Hotspur. These are some of the best bits from what they had to say as they responded to years of jokes and memes.

    Tottenham responded to Domino's Pizza UK's post on X from 9 February stating that they have "sold 78,427,391 pizzas since Spurs last won a trophy." Their response:

    "How many now lads? x"

    Tottenham players such as James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Mikey Moore and others also lined up in the dressing room with the Champions League music blasting in the background as a nod to the club's return to Europe's premier club competition. They captioned it on X by saying:

    Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung Min-Son once said that he wouldn't call himself a legend until he won a trophy with the club. After winning the Europa League last night, Son spoke to TNT Sports:

    "Let's say, I'm a legend. Why not? Only today!

    "17 years nobody has done it with such amazing players and today is the day and I will say I'm a legend of this club, let's enjoy and celebrate.

    "It feels amazing, this is what I've always dreamed for and today is the day the dream came true. I am so happy, happiest man in the world.

    "We always stuck together despite injuries and the young players always stepped up and I always give them some good advice and always wanted to talk positive and I am very lucky to have such an amazing group of players with me and that is why we had a good tournament.

  • Arteta on Tottenham's 'beautiful moment'

    Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta spoke to the media earlier today ahead of Sunday's final game of the season at Southampton.

    The Gunners boss was asked about north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur winning the Europa League last night and if he believed they had had a more successful season than Arsenal:

    "I don't like to compare with other teams. I need to analyse my team, that's my job."

    Arteta was also asked if he could relate to the rollercoaster of emotions that Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou must have gone through this season and the magnitude of the achievement:

    "Just congratulate them. I think they are champions, and when you get to that, you have to do a lot of things right. I think they have gone through a season with again a lot of obstacles and difficulties and they have helped them at the end to manage a beautiful moment.

    "So you have to congratulate. This is a sport and I am sure they have done everything in their hands to achieve it and they are very happy."
