The TV cameras find a downcast Fernando Alonso walking back to the paddock. The two-time world champion will have to wait to score his first points of the season.
Carlos Sainz, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli are still yet to make a pit stop in this race.

There is a lot of people out there wondering if there is going to be a safety car.
They're looking for an opportunity because at the moment we have got a bit of stasis, a bit like setting cement, they can't actually move where they are and they can't think of a strategy how to get past the guy in front.
Oscar Piastri is a purple lapper once again in third place, as his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris is in possession of a 6.2-second gap to home hero Charles Leclerc in first spot.
Alex Albon is in for a first stop in the Williams and bolts on a set of the mediums, reing in 10th place. Team-mate Carlos Sainz is still out on his hards, just behind in 11th place.
Max Verstappen has travelled back in time to the 1972 Monaco Grand Prix - well, at least is car has, as he complains his shifts feel like they are from that race 53 years ago. The Dutchman is fourth and his Red Bull is struggling.
Aston Martin have obviously told [Fernando] Alonso to back everyone up, but I don't understand why because all it's doing is bringing him closer to [Isack] Hadjar, who's already made two pit stops and Alonso has got to make the second one himself. They're giving up the chance to beat anyone ahead of them. I don't understand the thinking behind that, but maybe it will become more apparent later in the race.
Race leader Lando Norris laps George Russell in the Mercedes. It's been a weekend to forget for the Silver Arrows. Russell is in 12th and Italian Kimi Antonelli is one place behind in 13th.

If at the end of the race the drivers are on a hard tyre and Max Verstappen is on a soft tyre, he would need a three-second lap difference to .
He might well have it and it might be a tactic so they have a racy car at the end and actually get past people, it will be interesting to see what kind of pace he can pull.
There he is, the Red Bull driver has blinked and he is into the pitlane, pulls into the Red Bull box. Mechanics ready and waiting to go to work. Up and down super quickly. And he's back out. Where is he going to feed out? That is the question.
Oscar Piastri is on the radio to ask why aren't the blue flags waving, as the slower cars are backing up the frontrunners. Oliver Bearman, meanwhile, has a huge slide at Turn 15 at the swimming pool and clatters over the kerb.

Red Bull are readying themselves for a visit by Max Verstappen - and here he is. The Dutchman swaps hards for mediums and comes out behind Oscar Pisatri and into fourth.

Max Verstappen is leading this race but is yet to pit and he has to take the first of two mandatory pit stops at some point.
He started on the hard tyre which is the most durable one and he's fighting to perhaps get the overcut on Oscar Piastri or hoping for a safety car to come out.
Those who are yet to pit are surely hoping for some sort of safety car intervention to help them out.
