He has made 30 appearances in all competitions this term and scored eight goals.

Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "Neal has made a massive contribution to Brentford during both of his spells with the club. He has completely justified the decision to bring him back on loan, contributing important goals and being a key part of the squad.

"Brentford retains the option to bring Neal back permanently if we wish, but we have explained that we will pause that decision for now, having already signed Igor Thiago from Club Brugge."

  5. Sutton's predictions: Brentford v Newcastlepublished at 17:15 18 May 2024

    Chris Sutton and Legend

Chris Sutton is making predictions for every Premier League game this season against a variety of guests.

For this weekend’s final games of the season, he takes on Gladiators star Legend.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-2

Brentford's form has picked up recently and they will want to end the season on a high note at home on the final day.

Their manager Thomas Frank has been linked with the Manchester United job and I understand that in a way, because he has done an excellent job with the Bees.

Newcastle United need to at least match Manchester United's result against Brighton to make sure of finishing seventh.

I'm expecting Eddie Howe's side to do that, but it won't be easy.

    Legend's prediction: 2-3

This is going to be a high scoring game because both teams are going to go for it.

Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva has extended his stay with the Premier League club by g a new one-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.

Former Arsenal player Dasilva, 25, ed the Bees in 2018.

He featured in 36 of Brentford's 38 Premier League games in 2022-23 but he has been limited to just five appearances in all competitions this season and has not played since the end of January following surgery on a knee injury.

"Josh has been so unlucky with injuries in recent seasons and hasn't played anything like the number of matches he'd have wanted to," said director of football Phil Giles.

"This makes him and us even more determined to get him back to full health - he has shown amazing mental strength and resilience to take this latest setback in his stride.

"At his best, Josh is a very good Premier League player with attributes that are hard to find elsewhere. I'm sure he'll be back playing at some point in the 2024-25 season and we can't wait for that to happen."
