Daran Phillipson: I’ve somehow blinked and missed 2 goals.

Spurs....again giving the ball away.
The ball is played by Lucas Bergvall and he is trying to play it wide. Bruno Guimaraes gets the block and then a simple ball into Anthony Gordon.
I have no idea about the handball rule anymore.

Excellent play.
As the ball comes across it is Sven Botman gets beaten. Dominic Solanke with a diving header - old school.
Newcastle look shell-shocked.
Anthony Gordon
That's clinical!
Anthony Gordon punishes Spurs with a lovely low finish after Spurs give away possession inside their own half.
Tottenham are furious as the ball appears to strike Joelinton on the hand in the build-up.
But the goal stands - and Newcastle's fans are celebrating.
Dominic Solanke
What a start for patched-up Spurs!
Dominic Solanke is on the end of a wonderfully floated ball into the box by Pedro Porro - and the forward places his header into the bottom coarner.

Actually, Tino Livramento is going to be fine to carry on. He's back up after some treatment and Spurs are on the attack.
Cheers from the home fans as they win the first corner of the game.

The stubbornness from Ange Postecoglou may ultimately cost him his job at Tottenham.
When they went down to nine men against Chelsea, of 100 top coaches 99 would have dropped to the edge of the box, but he wanted to sit on the half way line. They lost that game comfortably as Chelsea ran all over them.
I don't quite understand why he does not want to adapt. There are issues with his system and his failure to adapt will go against him in the long run.
Tottenham 0-0 Newcastle
This doesn't look good!
Inside the opening minute Tino Livramento goes down after heavy collision with Lucas Bergvall.
Play has been stopped.

On Son Heung-Min being on the bench...
If I was a Spurs fan I wouldn't be very comfortable with it because he's the captain of the club.

It’s a cold day in north London and there are weather warnings for snow later. So of course there are bare chested Newcastle fans on show in the away end.

Newcastle start the new year arguably looking as good as they ever have under Eddie Howe's management.
After early-season inconsistencies, they have hit top form and have rediscovered their identity as an intense and exciting attacking team.
Winning a trophy remains the priority, so they will put everything into their Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal and home advantage in the second leg could be crucial.

More from Ange Postecoglou, speaking to TNT Sports about Son Heung-Min being on the bench: "Son has played a lot for us and we have to look after the players that are healthy. No doubt Sonny will come on at some point."

One win in seven Premier League games for Tottenham.
You have to have some understanding on the personalities missing at the back that is making it incredibly difficult for Ange Postecoglou.
We know that Postecoglou is always going to set his teams up the same way and go in with the same attacking philosophy, but he's missing an entire defence and it's not helped by the fact that Newcastle are coming to town.
Newcastle have won their last four Premier League games without conceding a goal. In of testing a back line Alexander Isak has scored in his last six Premier League games.
I think a lot of Tottenham fans will be peering through their fingers, hands over the eyes type stuff.

I think most people have recognised since halfway through last season that 'Angeball' isn't some revolutionary new approach to the game, but a tongue-in-cheek euphemism for playing badly, without structure, and losing a lot of games.
