She [Williamson] needed that and when the ball broke to her on the edge of the box, she was so calm and composed. You can see she is delighted with that after the defensive performance was not up to scratch.

Finally another chance for Maya Le Tissier but why is Sarina so stubbornly viewing her only as a RB and no chance at CB? Maya hasn't missed a minute WSL for us in 2 seasons all at CB and its her CB form which gets her into the squad, so Sarina's dogmatic view makes no sense. Physique is also not a valid reason, cannot possibly be bullied more than Bright and Leah.

Tonight will be different, it's a South Africa team who lost 5-0 to Denmark. We're hoping England will have much more of the ball tonight and there will be much more of a focus on the attack rather than the defence.

I spotted six flags being waved proudly with the South African colours on in the stand to our left during the national anthems.

South Africa will pose a different threat to England and they are relatively unknown, with Sarina Wiegman's side used to playing European opposition.
"That's what we want, different styles of play against us," she said.
"Of course, it will be a little different from the Euros but later on in our journey, towards the World Cup, I think this is great to play a team like South Africa.
"That will be another learning moment for us. How do we approach that? Can we dictate the game?
"Can we be calm on the ball playing forward, staying out of the duels and of course taking their counter attacks with the speed they have up front">
