Alexander Jensen: Had the unenviable task of trying to keep Daizen Maeda quiet, and stuck to it well - 7

Mats Knoester: Again, a pretty solid display in the heart of defence. Did everything that was asked of him - 7

Alfie Dorrington: The own goal was a significant black mark against his name in what was an otherwise reasonably solid display - 6

Jack Milne: After being pitched in to a the heart of the defence on the biggest of stages, the young men gave a fine performance – 8

Nicky Devlin: Acquitted himself well in an unfamiliar left-sided defensive role - 7

Graeme Shinnie: A hard shift in the engine room as Aberdeen tried to keep Callum McGregor quiet, and set his side on the way in the shoot-out - 6

Leighton Clarkson: When Aberdeen had the ball, the onus was on players like him to deliver, but he struggled as a creative force - 6

Ante Palaversa: Worked hard in the centre of midfield, was pretty disciplined, but the attacking side of his game was rarely seen. Scored his penalty - 6

Topi Keskinen: Was very much on the periphery of the game so it wasn't a surprise he was replaced early in the second half - 6

Kevin Nisbet: Rarely seen as an attacking force, was barely in the game with most of the play behind him - 6

Subs

Pape Habib Gueye: Gave the Celtic defence plenty to think about with his raw physicality – 7

Shayden Morris: Made an instant impact with his goal, however fortunate it was, and gave Aberdeen a real out ball - 8

Dante Polvara: Brought some welcome energy and strength to the team when he came on and scored in the shoot-out– 6

Oday Dabbagh: Was well marshalled by the Celtic defence - 5

Jack MacKenzie: Pretty resolute after he was introduced from the bench - 6

Celtic

Kasper Schmeichel: A virtual spectator for large spells, but was horribly at fault for Aberdeen's equaliser. Unable to save any of Aberdeen's penalties - 6

Alistair Johnston: Didn't have much to do defensively but struggled to use his front-foot abilities and missed the decisive spot-kick - 7

Cameron Carter-Vickers: Had very little to do, but what he did do he did well, and had part to play in Dorrington's own goal – 7

Liam Scales: A relatively quiet afternoon for the defender, who was occasionally put under pressure on Aberdeen's rare forays forward - 7

Greg Taylor: Fairly quiet defensively, but he did what was asked of him with the usual assuredness and also went close with a couple of decent efforts in what might be his final game for the club- 7

Callum McGregor: The Celtic captain didn't exert the influence we have come to expect and missed the first penalty before ending the game in tears - 7

Arne Engels: Despite seeing an effort hit a post, the Belgian was another player who struggled exert any significant influence in to the game - 6

Paulo Bernardo: Like some of his team-mates, he found Aberdeen difficult to unlock - 6

Nicolas Kuhn: With Aberdeen setting out to frustrate Celtic, he struggled to exert the influence he would have been hoping to do on a big stage like this - 6

Adam Idah: Struggled to get any chance out of the Aberdeen defence, who dealt with his physical threat comfortably - 6

Daizen Maeda: Cut a frustrated figure at times and missed a glorious chance to win it in stoppage-time. Scored his penalty - 6

Subs

Yang Hyun-Jun: Struggled to make an impact - 6

Luke McCowan: Like so many of his team-mates, he found Aberdeen hard to unlock after he came off the bench – 6

James Forrest: Looked lively in flashes after coming on, but wasn't on the pitch long enough make an impact after being forced to go off injured - 6

Johnny Kenny: Didn't make much of an impact after coming on but did score his penalty - 6

Jeffrey Schlupp: Looked a threat on the left and was unlucky to be denied by the woodwork - 6
