BAFTA and Emmy-winning actor Timothy Spall chooses his Tracks Of My Years all this week.
Timothy first emerged on the acting scene in several stage productions, including Royal Shakespeare Company shows ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ and ‘Three Sisters'. But he first gained national recognition after appearing as Barry Spencer Taylor in the ITV comedy-drama series ‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’.
Since then, he’s starred in numerous films including ‘Hamlet’, ‘Nicholas Nickleby’, ‘The Damned United’, ‘Denial’, and ‘The Party’, as well as playing Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter series.
He was BAFTA-nominated for his roles in Mike Leigh's ‘Secrets & Lies’ and ‘Topsy-Turvy’, and finally won last year for the TV drama 'The Sixth Commandment', a role which also bagged him an International Emmy.
Most recently Timothy reprised his role of Winston Churchill - which he'd played in 'The King's Speech' - for the VE Day Concert in London.
Plus there's the mid-morning music quiz Ten To The Top, a trip in to the BBC Archive with Vernon's Vault, and the Record and Album Of The Week.
