Feel-good tunes to make you groove! Plus a musician, celebrity or listener chooses the tracks that take them back to the dancefloors of their youth in Rewind Selector.
Feel-good dancefloor favourites, hidden gems and fresh tunes to make you groove. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of soulful house, classic soul, disco, RnB, UK Garage, Reggae, hip hop, doo-wop, funk, dance remixes, and much more.
Lonnie Jordan, founding member of American funk band War, chooses the tracks that take him back to the dancefloors of his youth in Rewind Selector. Lonnie has had a number of roles over the years, acting as vocalist and playing guitar, piano, synthesizer, and percussion. He is the only current member of War from the original line up. This week marks fifty years since the release of War’s classic hit 'Low Rider'. The band will be over in the UK this Summer to perform at Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival and Love Supreme Jaz Festival. You can share your own early clubbing memories, and the songs attached, by e-mailing spoony@bbc.co.uk.
Spoony wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business!
