Trishaw service celebrates 100th customer ride

A free trishaw service in Somerset is celebrating its 100th ride.

The Wells Community Network Trishaw Project was set up in August to give less able-bodied and vulnerable people a chance to have a ride in the city, which is hugely popular with tourists.

Phil Payne, one of the volunteer pilots, said: "Nearly everyone we take out, we always get a superb response from.

"The other day we took someone out from the Memory Cafe and his wife said he spoke his first words for a long time, after his ride on the trishaw."
