Motorist dies after crash on Aberdeenshire road east of Aboyne

A motorist has died after a crash on an Aberdeenshire road.

The 53-year-old man's vehicle left the A93 east of Aboyne at about 08:30 on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene

Police Scotland said in a statement: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances." The road was closed for several hours.
