Cost of Guernsey ports to rise in June

The cost of a standard adult port in Guernsey is to increase from £100 to £107 from 1 June.
A standard child's port will increase in price from £69 to £74.
Fast-track port application fees will also cost more, with an adult's going up to £178 and a child's rising to £145.
The Border Agency said the charges would bring Guernsey's port pricing inline with the UK Home Office which introduced a fee increase on 10 April.
The agency said standard port applications were currently taking about seven weeks to process.
It advised residents to check when their port was due to expire.
If it was going to expire soon, islanders should check whether the country they plan to travel to would allow them to enter, the agency added.
