Man 'seen with sword' at popular footpath

Marriott's Way is a 26-mile (42-km) path on disused railway lines between Norwich and Aylsham

Police have searched a popular footpath after a man was allegedly seen with a sword.

Norfolk Constabulary said it was called to Marriott’s Way in Thorpe Marriott, near Norwich, at about 11:30 GMT on Tuesday having received multiple reports of sightings on the path, which is also a cycle route and bridleway.

"Officers attended the scene and completed a thorough area search," a force spokesperson said.

"The man was not located."
