National Highways said vehicle recovery took place while two lanes were closed

Two lanes of a motorway have reopened after motorists faced three miles (5km) of congestion following a lorry fire.

National Highways said on X part of the M40 south in Buckinghamshire between junction 5 for Stokenchurch and junction for High Wycombe was closed at 05:32 BST.

It said firefighters had been at the scene and that all lanes were reopened at about 10:16.

The vehicle was recovered and motorists were thanked for their patience.
