Appeal after burglary at Guernsey petrol station

Police said the burglary happened at Northern Motor Works on Monday

Police are appealing for witnesses after a thief broke into a garage during the night.

Guernsey Police said the burglary at Northern Motor Works, Grandes Maisons Road, St Sampson, took place at about 01:40 BST on Monday.

Officers are looking for anyone who saw a man travelling alone on foot who potentially had a vehicle parked nearby.

Police said: "We believe the offender will have made some noise trying to gain entry to the premises, and that he left running in the direction of The Bridge with stolen property tucked under his arm."

They said: "Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch with DC 38 Wynn or TDC 142 Hewlett in the Criminal Investigation Department."
