A woman in Jersey has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car, police have said.

Officers said it happened at about 18:10 GMT on Wednesday on La Grande Route De St Clement at the entrance of Clos Des Patelles.

Police said the crash involved a grey Volvo estate and the woman, who is in her 70s, is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or those with dash cam footage to come forward.
