Woman's body found on beach near Tayport

Police in Fife are investigating the unexplained death of a woman whose body was found on a beach near Tayport.

Officers were alerted to the incident at about 09:40 off the B946 near the Tay Road Bridge.

Other emergency services including the coastguard attended the scene to recover the woman's body.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the death was being treated as unexplained and inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
